San Diego, (Jan. 14, 2013) -- Pathway Innovations and Technologies, Inc., the designer and manufacturer of HoverCam document cameras, announced it is now shipping the AirStation Ⅰ, an adapter that makes any HoverCam Solo, Neo or Mini document camera wireless. This wireless capability allows a teacher or presenter to easily move the HoverCam around a room, without a wire or cable to the computer. In addition, the AirStation makes it possible for a HoverCam document camera image to be viewed wirelessly by a notebook computer or an iPad.
The AirStation incorporates a rechargeable battery, which is able to power HoverCam’s USB-powered document camera models Solo and Mini (the AirStation I cannot power the Neo model). In addition, an app for the iPad called DashTop designed to work with the AirStation allows a live HoverCam document camera image to be viewed on an iPad. The DashTop app allows a user to annotate, capture and zoom in on images displayed on the iPad.
HoverCam’s wireless AirStation solution is expected to be popular with schools, where teachers have requested wireless capability to allow more flexibility to use a document camera anywhere in a classroom and connectivity with iPads and wireless computers.
HoverCam AirStation Ⅰ MSRP is $159 and is available for purchase through select authorized HoverCam education resellers and partners and from the HoverCam online store (www.thehovercam.com/store). DashTop, the iPad app for use with the AirStation I, is available free of charge and may be downloaded from Apple’s App Store.
