Hovercam Flex software is a Rich Internet Application (RIA), which is based and developed on Adobe Air 2.0 technology. Because of it, we are able to put together a user-friendly, easy-to-use, cross platform, and, most importantly, powerful tool for all of your quick and simple presentation, scanning and digital filing needs.
For most of us, capturing the document image is only the beginning. We need a tool to manage all the digitized documents for storage, emailing, faxing, backing up to cloud, file manipulation, such as saving to PDF. Hovercam Flex does it all, and did we mention it already? it’s 100% free.
**Known Issues:
- On certain MacBook and MacBook Pro machines, HCFlex can only connect to the built-in iSight camera. Please use HoverCam Express 1.0 instead.
- Certain anti-virus software categorizes a HCFlex component as virus, and subsequently delete or block the installation. We are releasing an update which will eliminate this problem by July 16, 2010. In the meantime, lowering your AVS' security setting will allow successful installation.
- Recording functionality is not supported in HoverCam Flex. This is due to the limitation of Adobe Air. Please use HoverCam Express 1.0 instead.
HoverCam Express 1.0
HoverCam Express software are native applications for Windows OS' and Mac OS X. Due to the inherent limitations of Adobe Air, certain functions, such as video recording, just can't be implemented in HoverCam Flex. Our goal is to migrate ALL functionality of HoverCam Flex 1.0 to "HoverCam Express for Windows" and "HoverCam Express for Mac OS X" using each OS' native development platform. However, this migration effort is time consuming. We are delivering intermediate releases on continuous basis as more and more progress is made. In the meantime, please pardon our construction dust. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
HoverCam Express currently includes the most essential functions, such as real time video, zoom in and zoom out, panning, video device selection, video resolution setting changes, document scanning, file save, file compression settings, etc. It does not include a full functioned file manager which is part of HoverCam Flex.
Video Recording (including audio and video recording) IS a supported feature of HoverCam Express 1.0.
