A five-minute interview with Ji Shen, founder and CEO of Pathway Innovations and Technologies, Inc., the San Diego, California-based manufacturer of the HoverCam, which can be seen in CES LVCC South Hall 4, Upper Level, booth 36828.

Q: Hello, Mr. Shen. Every year, you show up to CES with new, innovative devices. This year, the Mini 5 has been getting a lot of buzz. Could you tell me about it?

SHEN: Of course. The Mini 5 is personal scanning at its smallest. It is about the same size as a pen. The Mini 5 has a 5 megapixel resolution covering Letter-sized paper. It is 1080p full motion HD video and it all fits right in your pocket.

Q: That’s amazing! Does it require external power?

SHEN: No. It gets power from the same USB port which allows it to save to your computer.

Q: So you just plug it into your computer and it is ready to use?

SHEN: That’s right.

Q: Does it include any software?

SHEN: Yes. It scans, records video, annotation, OCR, digital signature, so on. It does just about everything our existing document cameras can do. It also has new receipt and business card management software.

Q: I can’t wait to try it.

SHEN: Stop by our booth in South Hall 4 and you can see it live.
